Graduated from the University of Washington in 1993 with degrees in English/Creative Writing and Editorial Journalism. Did a brief stint as a newspaper reporter then switched to public affairs, working for the Washington State House of Representatives. That's where I met my husband, Chris (a Coug; go figure!). We were married in 1997.
Earned a master's in journalism from Michigan State in 1999, then moved back to Seattle to work for a P.R. firm. Eventually moved back to Olympia and went to work for State Superintendent Terry Bergeson as her communications director. Spent the last five years as as director of communications for the Association of Washington School Principals. Just started a new gig this summer as comm director for the Association of Washington Business.
Chris and I have one son, Ryan, who is almost four and pretty much runs the show around here!
